About me

I am an engineer and a product designer. So far, the products that I have worked on include aspects of a stent delivery system and machined products that span the range of fields including medical, aerospace, optical, consumer electronics, semiconductor, and military.  In addition, I have also worked on medical soft goods and devices that relate to patient positioning in and outside of the operating room. Finally, I have also worked on developing spectroscopy solutions in the realm of scientific instrumentation.

Recently I accomplished my goal of finishing grad school to explore the synergies between industrial design and engineering, where on the one hand I delved into design thinking, storytelling, sketch modeling, need finding, problem framing, and business models, and on the other hand I submerged myself in mechatronics, manufacturing techniques, and other aspects of both physical and digital product design engineering.  And with it all many iterations.

This hybrid discipline of engineering and design, along with the exposure to business and entrepreneurial environments, have allowed me to further my technical skills (both analytical and hands-on practical) while becoming more flexible, creative, and solution-focused with an understanding in human-centered design and the ability to work in multidisciplinary settings to ensure that the customer's end product is desirable, feasible, and viable.

I am always seeking adventures to quench my fundamental curiosity to explore and the nagging desire to create (to design, to make, and to make things work), whether in the workplace environment or in my own personal projects. In my remaining spare time, I am attempting the perfect jump shot, lifting, and staying active. I treasure the chance to travel and experiences that lets me see the same things in life through a different lens.

Lastly, I’m into eating shengjian mantous, drinking water like TB12, and looking forward to one day writing the “About Me” page in the third-person.
